Data collected, via a Microsoft Excel form, was uploaded into an Access database, organized, and exported to a data model. From the data model, the end client could determine "should" costs for similar parts. Armed with this information, the end client was better informed and could negotiate for lower prices on new parts similar to those in the survey or the identical parts surveyed when those individual contracts were up for bid.
Applications written to accomplish the goals of this initiative included:
Automated email programs
Unique request for proposal (RFP) generation based on the parts provided by each individual supplier
RFP upload, from Excel templates, and reporting database/tools
Supplier feedback and other report exports to Excel and PDF formats | |
